Celebration: Chinese New Year

February 12th is Chinese New Year's Day in Asia. January 1st was the solar new year, and we are now living through the lunar new year. I am here to say Gongxi, giving you my best wishes for a lucky and happy new year.

2020 was the year of the rat according to the lunar calendar. In Chinese astrology every year is represented by an animal in a repeating 12 year cycle.

I am happy to report that now that the year of the rat has come to an end, we are officially living in 2021/the year of the ox! The Ox is thought to be a time of peace, prosperity and goodwill. We are much in need of the reliable, assuring and nuturing presence of the ox, after a tumultuous 2020.

Do you know what your horoscope is for the New Year?

I was born under the year of the dragon, the symbol of the emperor. We are supposed to be unique dreamers with ideas and talent. Passionate souls with inner strength.

It's expected to be an especially lucky year for me that predicts free expression and important career advancements. With discipline, organization and hard work I read that great successes will come my way in the near future. I am excited to hear that.

I sorta forgot that this happens arounds this time of year 😅

But anyway, I was born in a year of the monkey

Happy lunar new year! My family is Chinese so we celebrated the Lunar New Year Eve on Thursday with delicious food including the biggest lobster I have ever seen in my life and red pockets. This year is also significant for my dad since he was born in the year of the ox. I always like celebrating Chinese New Year and though it was different regarding seeing celebrations in the street, it was a good day. :D

happy lunar new year folks! it's a holiday here in the Philippines so that's pretty cool eyoo.

i myself am a Virgo for being an early September baby, and i was born on the year of the tiger. went ahead and read up on it on the site you linked Sam and ehh... it's 50/50 with what i agree and don't agree with about these statements.

Tigers are passionate, strong, swift, and courageous.
i'm passionate for certain things for sure, but i don't consider myself strong, swift, or courageous at all.
They love their freedom and do not do well when stripped of their independence.
ok yes very true
They can be quite dominate, and need to feel powerful. Not one that is afraid of meeting a situation head-on. They can be restless, and need challenges to keep them happy and healthy.
don't agree with any of these lol. i'm nowhere near being a dominant/powerful personality, and i usually hate challenges, even when i know they're good for me and my personal growth :p
Tigers make excellent friends and long lasting relationships if given their freedom. They are flirts, but committed to their partners.
definitely agree with these ones. i love long lasting friendships and am 100% committed to my partner.
Parenting is a privilege.
yeah, no plan to have kids whatsoever. don't wanna bring another soul into this mess we call our world, on top of being too lazy to take care of one lol.

I'm a Snake and this year it's my sister's year she's an Ox and really deserves all the blessings and happiness she can get from 2021.
For Zodiac I'm a Capricorn-Aquarius cusp. I don't know my sun, moon or rising signs. It is true I could be different, however I've always just followed being a cusp in Tarot readings which always were 100% accurate for me and came true.
