Hello everyone! These will be a new series of threads called "character spotlight", where we will take a look at the important characters in the 5th Generation games! You're more than free to share your thoughts and ideas about each character shown in these threads, and reoccurring people who participate in these threads will receive something special:

So, in this character spotlight, we have... Shauntal! She's a part of the Unovian Elite Four, with her specialty being Ghost type pokemon. She's a little bit out there (as with most ghost-type users), with her main hobbies being reading, and writing.

Her Pok?mon: Cofagrigus, Drifblim, Golurk, Chandelure, Froslass, Gengar, Mismagius, Banette​

* Not much more to say about Shauntal, like everyone, she loves her pokemon dearly, and occasionally she visit's Cynthia's villa. But in any case, some discussion questions! What did you think about Shauntal, as you fought against her in the Elite Four? What do you think about her personality? How tough was she when you first fought against her pokemon? Feel free to share any and all thoughts~

Shauntal is one of the few Pokemon characters in-game to have a voice. ^_^ She isn't that tough for me, but her Chandelure is definitely something! I also love her design, which was inspired from black cats. (:

Her personality isn't as creepy as her chamber looks like, I actually like her a lot! (:

[Hikamaru]

Ah, Shauntal... my fave Unova Elite Four member and for good reason.

I love her powerful Ghost-types, and she uses a couple of my faves such as Jellicent, Drifblim, and of course dat fearsome Chandelure. When I look at her character she reminds me so much of Velma from Scooby-Doo, but aside from that she is still one of my all-time fave characters from the Unova games.

She is easily the hardest of unova's E4 and the only one that actually does a job while doing the whole final boss thing. Which makes me wonder, how much do they get paid to stand there and do nothing.

Back to topic, personally her hardest mon is her driftblim due to her flying gem boosted acrobatics. Also iirc she burns alot so any physical attackers are going to have a hell of a time with her.

That's an.. interesting comparison. xD Actually, I see what you mean~!

Do you think maybe the developers had scooby doo in mind too when they created her design? o:

Ahh Shauntal... the best mix of Velma of Scooby Doo, Rider from Fate/Stay night and the rest of the purple hair gene.

Anyway, she is one of my favorite Elite Four members. her opening and closing dialogues in both games are some of the more enjoyable lines i've read coming from the in-game NPCs.

Regarding her monster lineup, i liked how well rounded her crew us with a variety of typings.
