Ever since its introduction in Gen II, every new generation (iirc) has made changes in the games' breeding mechanics, to the point now where in Gen VI it's actually bearable to breed Pokemon with 5-6 perfect IVs+the nature+the ability+the egg moves you want.

Will Gen VII also introduce some new changes to make breeding easier, or will they finally stop making changes to breeding? What kinds of changes to breeding would you like to see happen in Sun and Moon?

I would like it if eggs didn't take spots in your party. I'd like to see a separate egg inventory. The EggNav. I would also really like it if you didn't need to speak to the daycare person to pick up eggs. Basically I would like to be able to continue breeding wherever I'm exploring and not be stuck in that one route all day. I would also like to see methods of increasing egg generation and lowering egg cycles, maybe by upgrading the daycare or your EggNav.

Good ideas! An Egg bag or some such would be great with hatchlings sent to your bank if you have no spaces, an the Egg Nav so you can see how close to hatching pokemon are and Id love to see how many steps remaining (and whether any hatching reduction abilities are in action). Ability to delete eggs would also be really nice, I don't see why you cant.

As a breeder that plays pokemon rather intermittantly now-a-days as life just gets in the way. I'd like this EggNAV to also include a what's in the Egg feature.
It doesn't need to show moves or IVs ect, just the pokemon, I turned on OR last week and found 3 boxes of eggs, and they just have a bunch of random pokemon in them.

I actually like this idea, because I consider eggs a waste of a party slot and it does get annoying having to go to the daycare just to get the eggs. Lowering egg cycles would be another improvement I'd want to see because they're currently based on species and some hatch way too slowly.

This might sound ridiculous to many, but what if they expand a Pokémon's egg move list by including egg moves learnt by one of its parent Pokémon that isn't the same species? For example, both Pikachu and Buneary are from the field egg group, so they're able to breed a baby. Both of their egg moves are different, but now they will share their egg moves together, along with other Pokémon from the same egg group.

I'd like to see an item that allows you to breed babies with exactly the same IV spread as the holder. Sure there's power items (which only transfers one IV stat) and Destiny Knot (albeit randomized) but it would be a lot more accessible to breeders and help get battle ready mons quickly.
I'd also like to see the daycare man deposit eggs when your party is full.

(I do like the EggNav idea too but how will it work with Magma Armor/Flame Body users?)

Thinking of something I've wanted for a while that I'm more than certain won't ever be implemented, but Poke-hybrids.

It would be incredibly difficult to implement as they'd have to fuse together all Pokemon capable of breeding in some way. But the general idea is that the two parents would produce an offspring that is sort of a fused version of it. This would not count for Pokemon like Volbeat/Illumise, Nidoran, or others that may share breeding with other species.

The child would have a combined move pool mixed from both parents, and depending on the parent's typing, change up their's. Like two mono types would result in a dual typing. But a dual typing with a mono type or two dual types would randomize with two types the offspring got.

So say Heracross bred with Flygon. The offspring could end up Ground/Bug, Ground/Fighting, Bug/Dragon, Dragon/Fighting, or the Parent's typings of Bug/Fighting or Ground/Dragon. Abilities would also be randomized between the parents based on which they had or could give. It's WAY too complicated to ever use in a real Pokemon game, but it's something that I'd love to see, mostly just to breed different combinations.

    @XanderO

I dunno. I think it would be bad for competitive battling honestly. Not knowing what you'll get, having all these type combinations to contend with, etc. I'd prefer something like Tauros/Miltank. They breed and produce a baby Pokemon different to both type - being their pre-evolution (either a bull or a cow pre-evolution, depending on the gender). I'm just waiting for that to be implemented because I'm pretty sure something along those lines is bound to happen eventually. Hopefully this generation!

I hope they do continue to make breeding easier. I've bitched a lot about the 6th gen games being too easy in terms of experience boosts, gift Pokemon and relatively weaker trainers but breeding is the one area that should be made as easy as possible in my opinion. It helps cut down on the urge to cheat and it also helps legitimate players keep up with those who do cheat to get their Pokemon. I saw a great suggestion from someone on youtube who said that gamefreak should release a 6IV ditto through an event. I think that alone would do wonders to help players out with breeding and cut down on cheating.

I also think there should be a way to guarantee the ability of a Pokemon through breeding. Possibly by making the female pass their ability down 100% of the time instead of 60% or whatever the odds currently are.

Lastly I think they should boost the destiny knot to guarantee 6IV's passing down from both parents when used for breeding. Or better yet do away with IV's altogether. I know the latter probably wont happen but I can't say I'd miss IV's if gamefreak got rid of them. I'm sure they could think of a different way to determine Hidden Power typing which would be the only issue I could see people complaining about anyway.

Hidden Power already got a flaw right now for not including Fairy type because of the way it works with IV.
