Catching Legendaries in a Pokeball

    Have you ever caught a legendary Pokemon in a regular pokeball? Bonus: have you ever caught a legendary Pokemon in a standard Pokeball at full health?

    I have caught a legendary Pokemon in a regular Pokeball at least once, if I do recall, but never in a pokeball at full health... (Eternatus does not count btw that's a 100% guaranteed capture) that's never going to happen, at least to me. I'm not rng lucky enough for that.
     
    Not necessarily, but close. I managed to catch a pheramosa in a poke ball. I wanted to see if I could. Named it lucky I think ultra beast have a legendary catch rate when using regular balls, correct me if I'm wrong

    Edit: appon rereading the question I remembered something. I think it's safe to say that catching A legendary at full HP is close to if not impossible. Mainly due to the equation (correct me if I'm wrong I haven't looked at it in a while and there may be something in there that is supposed to prevent what I'm about to bring up) in sun and moon there's a glitch that can make the heavy ball's catch rate 0 or less depending on the Pokemon it's used on. If it's weight is under a surtan amount it will always fail. Considering that absolute failure is possible and the fact that having the legendarys health down is already pushing it when using an ultra ball I think it's safe to say that catching A legendary in a standard poke ball at full HP is close to if not impossible. Sorry if that whent on to long. Let me know what you think. I may be completely off base

    I did it in pretty much all the main games I've played from Emerald to Sun. Just stock up on like 200 standard balls, false swipe, and hypnosis or spore and go to town. The only caveat was with pokemon that healed themselves or actively killed themselves. If it wasnt the main story legendary, then I'd give it one try with the normal pokeballs but after that, ultra/dusk balls it is.
     
    In normal games just once. Just to see if I could. Never again though, that took way too long xD
    In LGE I caught a couple hundred meltan in my Go Park in a PokeBall, as in those games the great and ultra ball are such an extremely marginal improvement it's just better to spam buy pokeballs because cheaper and numerous =3
     
    i did a few times, that i can recall! usually i try to go for great ball captures to see if i get lucky that way, but there have been a few moments where a poke ball has surprisingly worked. :o
     
    I just did for my first time a few weeks ago. I was playing Platinum and was throwing like 15 Ultra Balls at Azelf. I decided to switch it up and throw a Poke Ball and I caught it.
     
    Tried to! I remember catching Groudon on the first Poké Ball once as a kid, that was the most satisfying thing everrrr. Nowadays I don't really use the regular balls, but I do like catching legends with balls that match their color (or Luxury or Premier Balls alternatively). They are pretty :3c
     
    I caught Groudon in Ruby with a Premier Ball. If I remember rightly, it was the last one I had, having run out of Ultra, Great, and Poke balls. I don't think I appreciated how unlikely that was at the time 😅

    i like how i mentioned this months ago and proceed to then catch a dialga in a poke ball in bdsp just to see if i could lmao
     
    I have back in ye'olden days. I feel like it was easier then. I remember saving in Pokémon Silver right before the Suicune encounter and just spamming Pokeballs until I caught it, lol. Took a few Game Boy shut downs and retries but I got it eventually.

    But I like to preserve my Master Ball at nearly all costs. The hoarder in me sees it as an exclusive one time item so I have to keep it.
