Cast away... with Pokemon!

    So I'm going to get a little cliché on all of you, but bare with me. :D

    Let's pretend somehow you are stranded on a deserted island. It is just you and a magical supply of food that will last you a year. Along with that you have three Pokemon with you. So, my question is, which three Pokemon would be with you? Also please describe what each Pokemon's purpose is.

    Just as a heads up please try to to stray from, "Oh I'd bring Abra so I could just teleport home or I'd bring Lugia so I could fly on it's wings home!" I'm just asking for a little creativity. :)
     
    Okay, Uh... Well, I'm not the most creative but I'll try this,
    Weavile: Because I'm assuming that this island is NOT in the north so it'll be rather hot, and so I'll want something to be able to cool me down ^_^; And it's claws would be good for cutting things down, such as trees. So I could build like, a cabin.
    Machamp: Because since in every game, it is being used as a weightlifter, so that would be great if I have to move anything!
    Togekiss: Well, I do believe that it can learn a fire-type move, right? And it can fly, and so yeah... Seems to be pretty useful.

    But yeah... That was terrible... I hope that someone comes up with something better than me...
     
    This seems like fun.
    1) Typhlosion - A fire Pokémon is always handy to make campfires or roast food. And with it's soft (I believe it is) fur, it's body would make a comfortable cushion to sleep on (warm as well).
    2)A water Pokemon which can surf and use waterbeam. If it's large enough and mobile on the land, it can even be used for transportation on the land. Waterbeam is for cooling down, surf is to swim of course. :'D My person choice goes to Swampert or Feraligatr.
    3) Tropius. It can fly, gives fruit, and with it wings it can create a refressing breeze.
     
    i would take-
    gallade, as he is my favourite, and his sword arms could chop down trees for firewood and stuff
    arcanine, for fire
    dragonite, again as he is one of my favourites, and he can learn lots of different moves that could be useful
     
    I'm not going to say Ditto. ;D

    But Lapras to fish, Aggron for needed physical strength and maybe some Fire Blast. Then Happiny, just 'cause.

    If it wasn't for Tropius, whom I forgot about, I would probably have said 3 Snorlaxes for more food.

    So, apart from Pokemon to eat, what might I take...?
    - Kabutops
    These scythes arms look more solid than Scythers, so Kabutops would be a great help for cutting down trees. I could build a hut using these, or maybe even a raft to get away from the island.
    -Charmander
    Will make cooking food a lot easier, since that tail could serve as a campfire. I'd choose smaller over bigger fire Pokemon because they might be quite dangerous.
    - Ariados
    For building a raft, I would also need something that comes close to a rope, and Ariados' silk seems appropriate for this purpose. Also, it could scare anything hostile off. It's not like Kabutops couldn't do that as well, but whatever.

    Terrible ideas? I think so too.
     
    I would take

    An Empoleon as penguins are the best fishers
    Typhlosion to cook my food and make campfires
    Hariyama or Machamp for all the physical labour like building a log cabin or fighting away cannibal inbreds =]
     
    Ariados for construction and a... wait for it... Signal beam!
    I'll give this some more thought, though.
     
    Im going for the basics then.
    Tropius: For the bananas :D
    Medicham: Can lift heavy things physically and mentally. So can be used to help create shelter.
    Charmeleon: Cuts down trees for me :] (its got sharp claws) and then fire for a campfire :]
     
    Alakazam so it could teleport me away... I'm kidding :P
    I'd choose Alakazam though, it can learn the elemental punches which would be useful. If I wanted a fire it could put its hand on fire and ever so lightly tap the wood. If I needed to keep the food frozen (because it'd go bad in the sun) I could get Kazam to use Ice punch (lightly) to freeze it. If I had trouble sleeping (I find it harder to sleep when I'm not in my own bed) then it has Hypnosis. Also if there was a storm I could get Alakazam to keep me safe with it's psychic powers (Psychic bubble anyone?) Also I'd never be alone because Alakazam has psychic powers and it could communicate with me using telepathy therefore I'd always have someone to talk to.

    Err, what's that? I still have two slots available? :O
    Well I'd choose Empoleon for my second Pokemon. If I'm on an island with nothing to do I'd get bored very easily and what better way to have some fun than to surf on the back of an Empoleon?!? Plus as someone said earlier, it could catch some fish for me if I didn't like whatever food was already on this island.

    Finally I'd choose Ditto. Seems a bit pointless as Ditto needs to SEE something before it can transform into it, but that's where Alakazam comes in again ;) I think of something I want Ditto to transform into, Alakazam reads my mind, Alakazam then sends the image into Dittos mind through telepathy and Ditto transforms into it! How's that for creativity? :D
    Plus, I could get Ditto to Transform into a laptop or an iPod or something and use Alakazams thunderpunch or a weak thunderbolt (very weak) to charge them up :P
     
    Empoleon: Has never let me down before. It could go catch fish and other seafood for me, and hopefully give me some clean drinking water. Also it's pretty strong and since it's part metal it should be able to tear down things such as trees. An added bonus would be cooling me off if the island was somewhere in the tropics.

    Torkoal: Good for making fires to keep me warm and cook my food, and would keep other creatures away at night. I could use its smokescreen to also make it aware that I'm trapped on the island.

    Snorlax: For something to sleep on :D and Snorlax could help carry heavy loads (when it's not sleeping) & if Empoleon gets tired Snorlax would be another pokemon I could use to float away from the island.





    My list seems....mehhh.
     
    ...Erm a few quick questions; Do we get to leave once the a year has passed? Is there violent life on the island? How large is the island? What is the climate on the island like? Anyways I'd probably take;

    Lucario - It'd be able to keep me company, since Lucarios can communicate via aura, and I think that a Lucario could be useful for some physical labor.

    Arcanine - Heh...again it'd be able to keep me company. (A pokemon based off a dog...man's best friend :p) Also an Arcanine could help start fires, keep me warm, and protect me.

    Dragonite - Ehh...I think one would be good for gathering purposes. Don't forget Dragonite has wings, so it can fly too. ^_^


    EDIT: Lol, I just noticed...all three of them can learn Extremespeed xD
     
    I like this thread alot! But there are some things you didn't mention that I would need to take into consideration. For example, what is the island like? I'm going to assume for all intensive purposes, you are speaking of a cliche tropical, volcanic island, maybe large enough to house some land mammals.

    I would bring the following:

    Charmander: I'm not good at lighting fires out of nothing! :P

    Totodile: Would be very useful for catching fish and as a supply as fresh water.

    Tropius: A user above posted this Pokemon as well and I have to say the same reasons. Yum fruit, and exhilirating flights!
     
    Charizard - Fire/Fly
    Machamp - Work
    Slowking -If i was one year only listening to "Char, char, charizard" and "Ma, ma, machamp" i would like to have someone to really talk to!

    Since I have a magical supply of food, I don't need Tropious for bananas, they're included there.

    I pretty much left the question up for interpretation. I will say I was going for your usual tropical island though. Anyways it's up to you to decide what kind of island it is and what lives or grows there.

    I would say that Slowking would be my first choice. Not only would he provide me with fresh water, but we could also have conversations during our captivity on this island. With Slowking by my side, not only will my sanity be saved but my intelligence might also improve greatly.

    My other option are either Venusaur or Tropius. They would provide me with food after my supplies are gone. Also, both are big enough to allow me to sleep on them. This way I won't have to make any unnecessary shelters or buildings.

    My last Pokemon would probably be a Fire-type Pokemon. Okay, let's throw Blaziken into this. He would provide fire in the dark. Also, he would also be my fighting partner. A whole year on an island can really make one go. From afternoon till evening, we would work our bodies until exhaustion takes us.

    If this were to happen, I'd say that it might be the best time of my life. We would have smores over the bonfire. My daily conversations with Slowking would be like school to me. He would teach me calculus, literature, mythology, and maybe even philosophy. Whenever I'm bored, I could just chill with either Venusaur or Tropius. The sunshine would be be shining over us while the wind cools us off. Blaziken and I would probably adventure into the island and explore the beauty hidden inside. If we find something, we'll then bring Slowking and Venusaur with us. Our goal would probably from finding a waterfall or a good cave where we can use as a shelter. My life on this island is already made. It'd be cool if this was to happen.
     
    This is a pretty difficult choice.
    How about:
    1.Tropius, in case our food supply runs out.
    2.Wingull, so I send a SOS message to near land.
    3.Charmander, to keep us warm at night.
    I guess this is an okay team...
     
    For some reason, my first instinct was Spoink. o.O
    Then I sort of reasoned that Spoink was Psychic, so he could... y'know... look for thing. :| Like food, and firewood. And maybe I could bounce sunlight off his pearl to light fires? Besides, he'd be a lot of fun!

    Second choice... Camerupt. :3
    He's part Fire, so he could light fires (ignoring my pearl trick) and he's strong enough to carry things, or me, to other places, like wood to build with and such. And if there was a volcano (why would there be?) Camerupt could... do something.

    Wow, I fail at this. -3-

    And number three... Let's go for Tropius. Unlimited bananas! They'll hold me off until Spoink finds more food for me. Or, y'know, teleports more onto the island. :3
     
    Lucario:Because he could cut down usefull Items for me like Trees,Fruit,ect.
    and he could sence if any type of rescue would be coming with his Aura and He could talk to me.

    Lugia:Because he could flap his Wings and cool me off.

    Empoleon:Because He has a Unlimited supply of Water.

    Also cause I like all 3 of these Pokemon.
