Cartoon Discussion: Vomit

    Remember when cartoon characters from Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken and even early episodes of American Dad! vomited off-screen? Now a days, cartoons, even in the TV-Y7 category, have characters vomiting, in all their gooey-gross glory, uncensored, for everyone to see. How do you feel about this? Does it bother you? Or do you not mind? Discuss.
     
    I don't care too much, but the only instance I can think of, Family Guy, just takes it too far with everyone barfing for like a whole two minutes.
     
    I don't like it at all, since watching people or any others vomit makes me feel nauseous myself. So I'd appreciate if they were a bit less heavy on the yucky-humor in cartoons as well :/
     
    As someone with emetophobia, it does bother me greatly. I have literally stopped watching those shows because of that. I can't even handle people in real life doing it, why would I want to see cartoon characters do the same thing? You would think they'd stay away from this, knowing that their viewers might have a fear of vomiting.

    Family Guy is horrible wit this. That's one reason why I stopped watching it. -_-
     
    It bothered me on Family Guy (the two of us broke up a long time ago), but from where I've seen it on other cartoons, I'm not phased by it. Sometimes I find it kind of funny. The animation I've seen used isn't to say it's too graphic for kids either. I can see how it might bother others, but I'm okay with it so long as it isn't overbearing like in coughfamilyguycough.
     
    Rugrats wasn't afraid of showing vomit on-screen (especially in earlier episodes) - one notable episode is the one where Angelica stole Chuckie's glasses. Towards the end of the episode Angelica pukes on Drew (and right into the camera), and it shows Drew's sweater covered with vomit, and vomit is dripping from Angelica's mouth. To make things worse, the vomit was rather realistic for a cartoon. Another episode shows Tommy puking on Angelica. They seemed to like vomiting.

    When I was a kid, I thought that was really gross and it could make me kind of nauseous. Angelica throwing up was especially bad.
