I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this and I know Diancie is a legendary pokemon but is it me when you put Carbink and Diancie next to each other, it looks like Carbink actually evolved into Diancie, they both have the same types and the same ability.

Does anyone agree with me or am I just thinking to much

Supposedly Diancie is actually some sort of Carbink mutation, according to one of it's Pokedex entries:

A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink, glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world.

And according to the 17th Pokemon movie Carbink even seem to revere Diancie as royalty.

The thing I have to wonder though, is why exactly this mutation occured in the first place? Why is Diancie the only known Pokemon that is a mutation of another?

Yeah, that was something I caught the Pokédex entry for. I always wondered if Diancie and Carbink actually were related, so that's something else.

Aw man, I was hoping the movie would go into more detail about that.

    Oh well...

Yeah it was released that diance is the princess of the diamond ore country also called diamond kingdom and is kinda a special form of Carbink.
Carink will never evolve into diance nor will it mega into it or anything like that diance is just the princess of the group.
    Some text released about diance:
X A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink, glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world.
Y It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands.

Diance is a legendary worshipped by the Carbink and in the movie she has special Carbink as her butlers and protectors.

The pokedex entry in my opinion does say that Carbink does somehow evolve into Diancie but doesn't say how but everyone has there own opinions to this and I suppose there isn't a right or wrong answer

It's a tranformation more like the same species differently bred idk about the evolution ive looked everywhere online and it seems impossible that it would happen maybe a different form but only that.

I don't get the feeling that Carbink could ever evolve into Diancie, in the games at least. It sounds more like some random transformation rather than an evolution.

Ironically, mutations are a part of real life evolution, but Pokemon evolution is not the same as real life evolution.

Well, are we forgetting that in one of the games Arceus could make a new Dialga, Palkia or Giratina? And that Manaphy can breed Phione? You can never say never.

I believe it would be quite interesting if they were to show how Carbink manages itself to mutate into Diancie. Though, this has seemingly occurred years before X and Y story, so if they were to show us its mutation in-game and whatnot, they could be able to include it in their prequels, if they are planning to create them. Personally, I believe prequels could be quite interesting; they've never approached it before, and in general, it would certainly help these guys practice their execution skills.

Given how the company works this thought will never come into play, and it's probably best that it doesn't. However It would be interesting if a Diancie could be found in future generations at a shiny like chance, where Carbink spawn.
