    Hi!
I was wondering, is it possible to trade pokemon from Gen II to Gen III, and from Gen IV to Gen V?
From II to III, I mean by cable and 2 gameboys.
From IV to V, I mean via Wi Fi like from one Gen IV game to another.
    Thanks!

Gen 2 can't trade to Gen 3 because of the differences between the GBC and GBA.

Gen 3 can do one-way transfers to Gen 4, same with Gen 4 to Gen 5.

To transfer from Gen 3 to Gen 4, you need a DS Phat or DS Lite with the 4th Gen game in one slot and the 3rd Gen game in the slot for GBA cartridges, and then you need to catch the Pokemon in Pal Park.

And to transfer from Gen 4 to Gen 5, you need two DS systems, one with the 4th Gen game and the other with the 5th Gen game. On the DS with the 5th Gen game you then have to play the Poke Transfer minigame to catch the Pokemon.

But sadly yeah, you cannot trade between generations other than Gen 1 and 2. I hope my advice has helped you!

    Trading... no you can't.

You can only transfer Pokemon from III to IV, IV to V. Unfortunately, you can't transfer from Gen II to III.

For transferring between III to IV, you need a DS or DS lite, since they are the only 2 that have dual slots, you must complete the elite four for the IV game, go to some place called pal park or something like that and that's how you transfer.

For transferring between IV to V, you need 2 DS, any kind would do. You need to defeat the elite four before you can transfer for the V game, go to Route 15 and there should be a Poketransfer lab.

That's all I can say though, you can click on here and here for more info.
