So I was do veriouse scripting with adding new mega evolutions when I was adding a dark as a second typeing to one of the eveloution but acidently wrote shadow I saw this and fixed it before testing the game but it made me think.

Could a shadow pokemon mega evolve.

Cause the way shadow pokemon are scripted I don't know if you change there forms or not.

I think there's nothing wrong with changing a Shadow Pokemon's form. I personally programmed in a restriction that they CAN'T Mega Evolve in my game, because I discovered that if you catch a Shadow Pokemon while it's Mega Evolved and it goes to the PC because your party is too full, then it stays in Mega Evolved form after the battle ends.

To Mega Evolve, a Pokémon must have a close connection to its owner. However, Shadow Pokémon have had the doors to their hearts closed. From a lore perspective, it doesn't make sense.

I know. I have a Function in my game where mega Pokemon can't evolve unless there happiness is at a certain point. I was just wondering Cause I was thinking of using something similar to shadow Pokemon but aren't shadow Pokemon.

I know, but I'd have to run that code on EVERY Pokemon in the player's PC at the end of every battle. If someone's trying to actually catch 'em all, it means that it's going to lag quite a lot.

    Plus, there's what Maruno said.

Just run it after the catching code, no?
