Brave Absol

    I want to use an Absol as either a lead or a sweeper for my standard team (and in-game, but I'll be EV training as if it's for competitive)

    It's a Brave nature, so obviously its going to be used as a sucker puncher. My question is - would it be better to invest in Defensive EV's or Speed in this situation? Attack EV's are definatly the first priority.

    Also, what should the other moves be? it has super luck so I'm thinking something like:

    Sucker Punch
    Slash
    X-Scissor
    Night Slash (?) although it already has Sucker Punch


    Also, if anyone is wondering why in the world I would run a Brave nature - it's because blue eyes are awesome, and it's even cooler to unexpectedly hatch one of your favorite pokemon as your first shiny :D.
     
    Drop Night Slash for Swords Dance. Also Deffence EV not Speed. You want it to survive for 1-2 Swords Dance. Then sweep like a broom. (I really would never use a Absol for sweep of lead because of his stats though.) I think that might be the best you can do with that Pokemon. I would just go for a better nature. Someone else might have better advice though.

    Horrible. Use the standard. (Well that's what my own Absol uses)

    Absol @ Life Orb
    252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
    Adamant nature
    Super Luck ability
    - Sucker Punch
    - Swords Dance
    - Superpower
    - Psycho Cut

    Okami, Absol so much walls the entire UU metagame with it's awesome 75/60/60 defenses. Waste of EVs if investing in defense.
     
    The thing about Absol is, although the defences are paper thin, there are other pokes that are in OU that have worse defenses.

    Granted, they are also much quicker (Ghastly, Azelf, Infernape) but that STAB Sucker Punch looks nice..at least on paper.

    Meh, I always found Absol to weak for my taste. Nice attack and all, but deffence is nothing...then again he is a sweeper. He is just like a Zangoose. I don't see what other see in him. I also forgot Absol isn't a wall, I was thinking he was a deff pure, but I was thinking of Umberon.
