Ok, so I wanted to try a Blissey, here is what I got so far:

    Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    - Drain Punch
    - Stealth Rock
    - Ice Beam
    - Softboiled

    Well, it's certainly...unique.

Most people won't be expecting a Drain punch or SR from a fat pink blob. O.O

The thing is, Blissey's abysmal Attack kinda kills any chance for you to recover much HP with said Drain Punch.

Standard Blissey sets run like so:

    Seismic Toss
    Soft-Boiled
    T-bolt/ Ice Beam/ Flamethrower
    Toxic

My only qualm is that I truly believe around 90% of ST Blisseys out there are hacked. :/

You, my friend, have no idea on what a Standard Blissey is

    Blissey@Leftovers
    Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 6 Sp Def
    -Seismic Toss
    -Aromatherapy
    -Softboiled
    -Thunderwave

You can also use Ice Beam over Thunderwave or Seismic Toss, but if you do that then you have to change the EVs (182 HP, 212 Def, 116 Sp Atk)

Oh, goodness... When I saw Drain Punch, I realised you NEEDED help...

Many Blisseys actually have Stealth Rock now, so it's no surprise.

    Blissey, the my standard:

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    Bold Nature (252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk or SDef)
    - Seismic Toss
    - Ice Beam
    - Thunderbolt Wave / Aromatherapy / Heal Bell
    - Softboiled

Good luck getting Seismic Toss in the game. Emerald Move Tutor -> migrate to D/P, capture in the wild... [sigh...] You can replace it with Thunderbolt if you're lazy.

Here's my novelty Bliss (Note: This works best with BP'd Defense.)

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Trait: Serene Grace
    Bold Nature (same EVs)
    - Charge Beam
    - Ice Beam
    - Flamethrower
    - Softboiled

Uh-huh... Novelty SpecSweeper. It was meant to be a joke at first, but it actually worked for me a few times. Aphoo~

    Ummmm........what?

Standards are there so we have a starting point of what moves/EV spreads to use. It's our job to tweak it to mold into our team as experienced players. Because those are standards in assuming that our Poke's have 31 IVs in all stats. So we tweak it to our standards.

Though, I have to admit the other guys set is better :p

My post had absolutly nothing to do with anything, just fyi =)

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Bold
    252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 SPDEF or SPD
    Trait: Natural Cure
    - Seismic Toss
    - Stealth Rock
    - Thunderwave
    - Softboiled

Old school lol (not recommended but it still works quite fine)

    OR

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Bold
    EVs: 148 HP / 252 DEF / 108 SPATK
    Ability: Serene Grace
    -Ice Beam
    -Thunderbolt
    -Calm Mind
    -Softboiled

Specs sweeper Bliss works quite well (mega hax with Serene Grace =P), Calm Mind neutralizes Nasty Plot users

We, as raters, MUST give standards first. Our unique sets comes second. Angelic comes first, because standards has been widely accepted & proven to work. THEN we can give em any creative ideas we have & why.

You wouldn't give a Choice Specs Tauros without first saying the standard way to do it.

Thank you sims. It's about time people realize that.

Though as stupid as it sounds, mayber a choice specs (not band) could be of benefit. I mean, it has dec3ent special attack and could surprise incoming Boah and Gengars. But the standard is obviously by far the best.

And aromatherapy is IMO needed on bliss, but nobody ever agrees with my logic, so I'll shut my trap.

EDIT: that wasn't a shot at anybody BTW...

I run my Blissey like so:

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Bold Nature
    EVs: 252 Def / 252 Sp. Atk / 6 HP/Sp. Def

    Calm Mind
    Ice Beam
    Softboiled
    Aromatherapy

Before you scream "Blissey needs max HP", I feel that she has more than enough HP to do the job. With this set, she can catch Mence/Chomp/TTar off guard, and can double as a fairly effective late-game sweeper, if all physical attacking threats are taken care of beforehand. She can CM up while your opponent attacks, and Softboiled when you need to. She can also Aromatherapise (word?) if your opponent statuses you.

She's been very effective for me, and I ain't gonna change her.

Blissey's Special Attack is still below average. I don't consider that 75 Base 'Decent'.

First, why does Blissey carry Drain Punch? It is a Physical Move if I'm not mistaken, and Blissey's Attack Stat is a 10. Why would it carry a physical move? And plus, Softboiled is a good enough recovery move for Blissey anyways.

I'd like to point out to KingOfAnime that the move, Toxic, is by far overrated. Its not that good, I'll tell you. Thunder Wave is probably the wiser choice.

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 SDefense
    - Softboiled
    - Aromatherapy
    - Thunder Wave
    - Seismic Toss

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 SDefense
    - Softboiled
    - Calm Mind
    - Thunderbolt
    - Ice Beam

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Trait: Natural Cure
    Nature: Bold
    EVs: 252 Defense / 252 SDefense / 4 HP
    - Softboiled
    - Icebeam
    - Stealth Rock
    - Thunder Wave

***The last moveset is more common in the uber or uber-like environment.

Um, Penguin, you realize uber blissey runs calm with max SDef EVs, right?

And sorry, but 75 isn't too bad. People use chainchomp when garchomp has 80 base SAtk, and that's without specs.

    Oh T.T I just copied and pasted all the sets and switched the moves around whoops ._.;

    *edits*

Oh and by the way, Stealth Rock is overrated on Blissey. Only n00bs and Anti-Pop put SR on him (her O_O) Sure it would be nice to have SR if it was the only pokemon that could learn it, but no. Its Aromatherapy 100%.

For the reocrd, I've always said SR sucked on blissey. It has opther things to worry about, like not getting owned by McIceGar and Boah THAT bad.

Actually, I read through a smogon analysis that had an intersting idea for bliss-HP Water. It would hurt Boah, but I guess the SDef boost ruins that...D/P ruined everything...

And since there are hardly no clerics at all, you'd expect people would take advantage of what blissey can get in the heal bell department, but *sigh*, I guess not. It is really greta though ;)

Why's everyone gotta hate me? :(

Come on, I was two moves off of your standard, guess I fail life and need to /wrists now.

I only gave the standard off of my own experience. Those were the Blisseys I usually came across in battles. Well, to be honest, I've only run into Toxicing Blisseys a scant few times. However, after looking over it some more, it is not a totally ludicrous thing to use, as it greatly helps reduce those damned stalls most encounters with Blissey usually run into. >_>

Come to think of it, If I were a Blissey user, I'd probably have more fun poisoning the hell outta all my opponents rather than paralyzing them. If they're special attackers, it adds for more extra lulz.

But yeah, my last two Blissey encounters were basically:
    "lol, you paralyzed"
"lol, i ST you because im ARed and thats what im made for"
"lol, i softboil when you think you get the upper hand"

On a slightly unrelated note, anyone ever try Attracting a Blissey? It's actually really fun and almost forces a switch if they find themselves unable to do anything after a couple turns. Probably one of the most unorthodox methods to use on a Blissey, but it definitely works.

And I don't know why, but there's this dumb trend I've been noticing with putting a Ganlon Berry on Blisseys, rofl.

Even with the boost and possibly predicted soft-boiled, That berry won't be saving you from a decent STABBed fighting move. Sure, it helps keep the other physical moves slightly at bay, but not terribly well...

That's all my input for now. :(

Not all Seismic Toss Blisseys are hacks, I have multiple that I offer as trades, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does so either...

And for the record, Uber Bliss does not have Thunderwave, rather it has Thunder to abuse that fact that Kyogre is almost always used, therefore Rain is almost always in play

    Blissey@Leftovers
    Calm Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp Def, 6 Def
    -Softboiled
    -Calm Mind
    -Thunder
    -Seismic Toss

Sp Def CM Blissey, team this thing with a Giratina and your walling capabilities are almost unmatched in the Uber department (Giratina over Lugia for the Fighting immunity :P)

Yeap thats the set, but ev spread is 252 DEF / 252 SP.DEF / 6 HP for UBER Bliss, its evd exactly the same as Wobuffet. It optimizes its walling potential that way with Calm Mind and without giving it lol defense.

    Anyways

    Blissey@leftovers
    Bold Nature
    252 HP / 252 DEF / 6 SP.DEF OR 148hp / 252def / 4sp.d / 104sp.atk (New D/P ev spread from smogon, ill explain later)
    - Ice Beam / Aromatherapy
    - Thunderwave / Sing
    - Seismic Toss
    - Softboiled.

    Standard.

Ice Beam really is a must due to the fact that you put huge dents in Dragons whom often see Blissey as set up fodder. It also hurts bulky ground types that try and predict thunderwave, also Gengar doesnt lol at you with it. You can also run Sing if you fear Electivire and other switch ins that make Thunderwave a liability (Garchomp etc.) , been seeing quite a bit of them on shoddy with sing lately now i come to think of it, however if the accuracy of it puts you off then use Thunder wave. Aromatherapy is there if your team really and i mean really cannot absorb status.

    OR

    Blissey@leftovers
    148hp/252def/4sp.d/104spatk
    Bold Nature
    Trait: Natural Cure
    - Wish
    - Protect
    - Ice Beam
    - Seismic Toss

Wish Blissey, also been increasing steadily in number lately.

Wish is good for team support, Protect to activate it when you need it for yourself to heal. It also allows scouting and prediction for Choice users.

Note: The ev spread 148hp / 252def / 4sp.d / 104sp.atk may seem strange but it really utilises Blisseys moveset and walling potential. 104 Sp.Att evs guarantees a ohko on Salamence and does

    Defender HP: 361
    Damage: 286 - 336
    Damage: 79.22% - 93.07%

to 16 HP Ev Garchomp. Whilst allowing it to wall just as effectively even without max HP.

EDIT: How in the blue hell are most Seismic Toss Blisseys hacked ?? Catch one on leaf green => Trade to Emerald => Breed for good nature and Ivs => Tutor Seismic Toss from battle tower => Pal Park to diamond/pearl => Give moves and ev train. Now if it survives a Choice Band Heracross's Close Combat, then is the time to start saying they are hacked.
