3rd Gen Battling Steven in Emerald

In Pokémon Emerald, there's a fight with Steven at the very bottom of Meteor Falls. All of his Pokémon are above the level of 70, and for some reason, is programmed with the rival battle music.

Did you battle Steven in Emerald?

Yes I battled Steven several times. I also defeat him one time using only normal type Pokémon.

Yes, almost always. I don't remember having a hard time beating him, since all my Pokémon were around same levels as his team.

he was super fun in Emerald. I think I only recall battling him probably twice or so at most, so my memory is fairly hazy, but I do clearly remember having some difficulty both times. it was a welcome and refreshing challenge, though!

I liked that we could battle him despite him being demoted from his Champion position, although it's too bad that we couldn't battle him more than once.
