...No, not a seal with a beach ball on its nose.

What I mean is Poke Ball seals. A new feature introduced in Diamond and Pearl that has persisted throughout the fourth generation, ball seals added a bit of spice to release animations, where you could add flames, electricity and even music notes to your Pokemon's entrance.

Did you ever find use for these seals? Why or why not?

I used these quite a lot, but more notably in HG/SS because you obtained most of them too late in D/P/Pt (barring the alphabet seals obtained by capturing Unown) but the effects are really cool and you can customize them to your own liking.

I was upset they never lasted past 4th Gen, but each generation needs its unique stuff as they say.

    Spoiler:

I used it before, they can be beautiful if the player knows how to decorate and match it with the right Pokémon.

    [PokeCommunity.com] Ball Seals

Despite the beautiful wide customization options, I found it inconvenient. The users are required to take away the Ball Capsule if they need to deposit their Pokémon in Storage PC. :( I guess that's the reason why seals are not well received? So they ended up as a Gen IV exclusive feature?

You know, I'm speculating this was likely the case. It was annoying having to remove the Ball Capsules every time if you wanted to deposit something in the PC, and I guess most players never even bothered with them as well.

The Ball Capsule should be removed automatically when the Pokémon is deposited, instead of forcing the players to access 'Player's PC', which is an annoying process as you said.

I hope they can try bringing this feature back in the future games, but they need to make it more convenient!

I liked the ball capsules although as commented on above they were annoying to use it was nice sending out my pokemon with some effects added.

However as Unapologetic said it would be nice if the seal came off once depositied that kinda tried your patience with the whole method

I enjoyed using the Ball Capsules and Seals because I like to send out my Pokémon with style that I wish for it to be (fire for Infernape, and petals for Leafeon or Togekiss). It's saddening that Gen V won't include it, but I wish such great feature is implemented once again.

And just like anyone, I do wish that the seals are deposited once I'm switching my party, without needing for me to manually remove it, I'm sure it would be convenient.

I really enjoyed the Ball Seals a lot, honestly. I had so much fun placing the stickers on specific parts of the Poké Balls, I remember using the bubbles and stars stickers for my Empoleon and the flower petals for my Roserade, and I really hope that they come back whenever Diamond and Pearl is remade

I used them sure, but they weren't very practical when you wanted to deposit and withdraw Pokemon. They looked pretty too but I wish there was more variety and they returned in later generations. They were definitely a unique feature, but not my most used.

They were neat imo. I didn't use them all that much to be honest, but they're something that I would have liked to have seen maintained in the later Pokemon titles. They were fun to play around with and would have fitted especially well in ORAS contests imo. Now there's just the additional sparkle effect when say you had your Pokemon participate in the B2W2 movies.

But I do agree the execution (like removing them whenever moving Pokemon about in your PC) was frankly dumb and hampered it.

Yep, I did find use for the ball seals. I actually put seals on every member of my HG in-game team, haha. Though unfortunately, I don't remember which ones I used exactly :-/

Anyways, during the time I played HG/SS, I wasn't that into competitive battling and I rarely swapped out my party, so applying seals was definitely less of an inconvenience for me. I agree that they should be removed automatically though, if they ever make a return in the future; taking off the ball capsule manually every time would be tedious as hell :-x
