ASH AND MISTY KISSED. BIG SCANDAL 101

What are some lies you're tired of hearing about the Pokemon Anime? I'm very tired of ASH AND MISTY KISSED/ASH AND MAY KISSED!!! etc. That's annoying.

That Ash will become a pokemon master. like seriously no he won't it's been like almost 20 years..and he seems to get amnesia every new pokemon season...

What are some lies you're tired of hearing about the Pokemon Anime? I'm very tired of ASH AND MISTY KISSED/ASH AND MAY KISSED!!! etc. That's annoying.

I remember when I first got Internet access at home, I fell for the "Ash and Misty will kiss on the final episode" rumors. Then, all of a sudden, Misty left, and the rumor would be proven false. The same thing happened again, this time with May, and then followed by Dawn. I even saw edited 'screenshots' that supposedly depicted Ash and May kissing when the Hoenn saga was still running, but figured they were fake since I noticed oddities with them. By then, I knew that any rumors regarding Ash kissing whatever girl was traveling with him would be nothing but a bunch of baloney.

I'm also tired of people clamoring for Serena or whatever other female traveling partner Ash has at the time a League is finished to stay with him. As much as I like Serena, I know she's going to be leaving at the end of the current Kalos run. That's a pattern that will likely never be broken, given that I seem to remember reading somewhere that Ash's female traveling partners are regularly replaced with new girls to provide viewers 'eye candy' or something to that effect.

In all fairness, we may get some hope to that happening soon due to the increasing likelihood that he'll beat the Kalos League (not to mention the currently ongoing rumor that there isn't going to be gyms in Alola).

EDIT: @Otter Mii-Kun: Yeah, I agree. Not to mention the writers had the perfect opportunity with the end of Best Wishes, aka fresh start incarnated to end that whole pattern with Iris, especially when the guy who made that standard in the first place, Masamitsu Hidaka, was evicted from the show by that point. They didn't, kept with the status quo. If they couldn't do it in Best Wishes, they certainly won't do it with Serena and XY. If anything, Serena out of all the female cast members is practically advertised to be leaving as soon as XY is over once her goal was formulated (her goal is Kalos Queen, which is pretty restrictive. At least with May, Dawn, Misty, and Iris, their goals didn't necessarily restrict them).

I really can't think of anything about this topic right now, sorry.

EDIT: Actually, on second thought, there is one thing (technically two) that does annoy me. Claiming Johto's composed of nothing but fillers with absolutely no redeeming value, and acting as if AG is somehow one of the better sagas.

First of all, Johto wasn't composed entirely of fillers, since there was plenty of character development episodes, episodes where the characters did stuff captures, and gym battles to go around, and Misty even managed to participate in the Whirl Cup. I might as well add that Ash in Johto did far better in the Indigo League and even managed to beat his rival.

AG, on the other hand, truly had nothing worthy of note beyond possibly introducing contests, which even there, considering they reused May's goal with Dawn, that's not really something to honk about. Let's put it this way, the Gym Leaders were treated like total pansies (Roxanne and Brawley were the only real exceptions to that rule) who lost to rookie Pokémon on the first try. Ash stayed at the exact same rank in Hoenn as he did in Johto, May ends up being replaced with Dawn with the latter, as noted before, reusing her goal, and then we've got the fact that the closest Ash has to a true major accomplishment, beating the Battle Frontier, that ended up being treated like a massive joke on his part afterwards when his Pikachu, despite beating a Regice, ended up losing to Gary (who unlike with Orange Islands where we can at least assume Gary trained extensively off-screen, he's retired from training to take up the family business), and then lost to Paul twice, both of which were to Rookie Pokémon (it was a bit ambiguous in Elekid's case until it evolved since we could assume he possibly brought Elekid from his prior region, but Ursaring was a clear rookie because Paul explicitly caught it in Sinnoh).

Do these rumors even come from a trustworthy source, or are they the usual 4chan rumors that we get from supposed "insiders" whenever a new Pokemon core title game is on its way?

As for the Ash kissing Misty/May rumors, I believed them myself once when I was 14 because over at Sppf there were edited avatars of Ash kissing those girls. They're very misleading. :x

Not sure. We'll probably get more information soon enough. Apparently it may have come from some official's twitter account. Hopefully someone will shed light as to where exactly it came from.
