I saw a news article about Nintendo making cutbacks on switch servers, "the end is nigh again." If this is exactly true, to make room for the new Nintendo console servers.
Doubtful. Makes no sense to do so. Plans to carry over memberships and purchases on the Switch E-shop over to Switch 2. Essentially makes it a market for the Switch 2 as well. Might run on the same server, honestly. (Knows nothing about how everything is structured, though.)
Apparently put out a date for China in 2026. Seems exclusive to China due to Tencent being involved.
I would imagine not. Them closing an E-Shop like that is like opening up the doors wide for grey water pirates who'll only download things onto 'dead' systems. Would be massively stupid of them to do that this early lol.
I doubt it. I'd not believe anything until you see Nintendo post a tweet or announcement on their website and social media feeds. They are likely porting over stuff from Switch 1 to whatever the Switch successor will be.
Yeah I wager it's just in China, given the state of the amount of games on their separate eshop, and limited sales, and apparently people just getting non-Chinese Switches anyway. They definitely are keeping Switch Online for the next console - they said as much! And tying the new Nintendo Music app to it is another sign it's around for a while yet.
