6th Gen Are Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire worth it?

Hey guys, seeing the various critiques on the internet, there has been a wavering balance between positive, negative, and neutral reviews. So, I was just thinking. Is it worth buying OR/AS?

I honestly wont know until I play it. However, knowing how GF has made remakes in the past, this seems to be promising.

I'd say don't pay attention to other people's reviews on games. Reviews are subjective to a select person and wont apply to other people. For instance, a review could give a game 2/10 but in your eyes the game is a 8/10.


Also, it's bit early to ask "Is this game worth it" considering it isn't even out yet, and I'm sure a vast majority of people haven't even obtained it yet (unless they did the trick with their 3DS to get it early)

I'd say the past two remakes were the best games in the series so this will probably be great. Most of the reviews look particularly nitpicky with very, very small or arguably non-existent issues being used to bring down the scores.

Really it depends on the context of your situation though, do you need to pick between this and another game? Did you like the original Hoenn games? Etc.

The IGN review was stupid "Too Much Water" and "Too many HM's" and was contradictory. Every review is very nit picky doesnt actually affect the game. Its like saying you love the taste of broccoli, but you don't like it and won't eat it because its green. If you are a fan of the series, go get it. Im pumped!

The original ones were released quite a long time ago...
I think besides from the nostalgia side, these remakes will bring the old experience back, in a modernized way, with added features. I do think it's worth it. Plus you get to live Hoenn with all the new gens, in 3D models!

IGN gave 7.8 for too much water and too many HMS, that's their problem. For real though it's something I'd have to wait for until actually playing. Judging from what I've seen from screenies, videos etc I can't wait!

You're asking that question in one of the most biased places you could possibly be asking it.

That said I wouldn't subscribe to the whole "too much water" thing. If you're not aware, a major theme of the game is "Land vs Water" so it's hardly surprising that there's more water.

Personally it never bothered me in the slightest.

You won't know until you try, and it's a matter of preference so I don't even know.
