Arceus Name Mean

I think the English version, at least, means something akin to "Arcane". (Similar to Arcanine)

It could come from Arcanus (meaning sacred mystery [latin]). Also Archaic, which derives from the ancient greek word of arkhaios, which means beginning. Also Arch (highest) and Deus (God) seem to be logical. And lastly there is Zeus, the most powerful god in Greek mythology.

It's not a very obvious name to decode.

You beat me to it. >:0

Yeah, Arch-Deus seems the most likely, with the possible reference to Zeus.

Also, **** + Zeus...because he was clearly designed by one. >_>

Arch in acording to the arch-looking-thing on his body.
Zeus because it's clear. :P

Arc(h z)eus

God knows what the heck that name could mean. It could be many different things. My vote goes to whatever God thinks.

Well, I don't know how Arceus is pronuounced, but if it is said like "Ar-kay-us" it seems obvious that it is either Arcane, or Archaic, with Deus. If it pronounced "Ar-see-us"(which is how I pronounce it) then I wouldn't be able to guess how it is pronounced.

She took it from me :[, anyways I agree with her

I believe it's a combination of 'arcane' and 'deus'/'Zeus'. But I also pronounce it 'are-see-us', which also makes sorta-kinda sense when you think about the fact that for all we know, Arceus could be sitting on a cloud watching the puny humans go about their lives and wielding dreadful grammar skills...

But, of course, I wouldn't know. Because I've never met hi- um, it before. Nope. Never met the guy.
