I've always liked the Acro Bike for the versatility rather than the speed of the Mach Bike. They both have their different uses but for general cycling, I prefer the Acro Bike. I also like the hopping ability of the acro bike since only requires a button to be held down to find a wild Pokemon.
When I first played, I really liked the Acro bike and hated the Mach bike. After a while, I finally got to where I preferred the Mach bike, mainly due to the speed (and the fact that I quickly got bored with messing with the tricks).
For me, speed is better than tricks. However, easy steering is better than speed. So I've always preferred the Acro Bike, because I never got the hang of the Mach Bike's inconsistent speed. I have a tendency to run into things...
The only exception is when I have an egg. Then, give me a Mach Bike and a straight road.
Using the Acro Bike doesn't offer anything aside from double the normal speed and tricks, while the Mach bike can accelerate in a much faster rate.
One thing I like about the Mach bike is the time thing at Cycle Road. It's pretty fun navigating through the road trying to avoid bikers who could possibly hinder your progress.
Oh, and Macro bikes can be used in Sky Pillar for those who want to capture Rayquaza.
