Here is where you can discuss Sabrina and other mental onslaughts in "Abra and the Psychic Showdown."

    My review to come forthwith.

This episode is SO cool! The little girl is actually kinda creepy...they had something like that in DP, but it just wasn't as god. Oh, Ash and co. ignoring TR in their room was so funny, and when Ash realised he was kissed by Jessie and James XD

    Can't remember exact quote

    Ash: What's a psychic?
Psychic: Psychic is using the power of your mind *tries really hard to bend spoon with mind...doesn't*
Ash: Oh yeah? Well, I have my own special method of bending spoons *bends spoon...with hands*

    XD

Indeed, they even did the Warp title, which is probably the only in-game Rocket item the anime did. But, I'm not in the mood to rant. Heh.

I was surprised that Lisa Ortiz did Sabrina. Just a perfect voice, pitch, everything. I know I've ragged on the woman, but I have to tip my hat whenever she does a good job, which she did here.

Well, I could always bring up Uri Geller's lawsuit over Kadabra, or shall I save that for the next two episodes? Hahaha.

    Wasn't as god, :P

This was, IMO, the best arc in Kanto. It has Sabrina, Sabrina. Of course, the battle wasn't finished. Just like most of Kanto.

Most epic momment: Electric-Psychic Dragon chasing Pikachu.

Haha XD I knew I made that typo, but decided to leave it. Of all the typos "god" instead of "good" is probably the best "that's so god!!"

This has to be the only arc in Indigo League apart from the actual league, right? Possibly the Snap episodes could count?

Considering she was able to turn people into dolls, I'm guessing Sabrina is God. Heh.

Personally, I think the epic moment was the nice break in reality where Ash basically falls to his death and Bulbasaur rescues him. Only in Pokemon, people. Nice animation, to boot.

Also, one of my favorite moments in the whole series is Sabrina's "childish fools" remark, followed by her creepily activating her power. Can't beat that.

The dragon was cool though. Dragon Ball Z x Pokémon crossover is much more epic Charaxes.

If Snap was an arc Jorah, then I think I like my opinion... wait a sec. :classic:

This is one of my favorite episodes of Pokemon. :D Mainly because I love Sabrina, and I love Psychic-types.
But Ash is really stupid in this episode, and that's another thing I like about it. In my opinion, the word "Ash" means "Fat, stupid looser who thinks he's the best person in the world." And in this episode, Ash definitely fulfilled his description. XD Anyway, I give this episode a 10/10, and it's comes close to my favorite episode. My favorite moment is when Sabrina says, "So now, it's time for us to play." Gotta love that line. : D

SS Anne can't compare, they messed parts on their own characters.

I agree with Tater Tot, not the Ash part of course. This was just enjoyable and nothing else. So I'll take his rating as my own. Bwahaha.

    Rating: 10/10

Yeah, I actually can't think of anything wrong with this episode (what!?) so I have to agree with 10/10! Wow!

But I bet Dogasu can find fault? *que Dogasu link*

I completly forgot the SS Anne episodes were an arc! Those episodes were good, too

Psst. You should reply to those.

Actually, the SS Anne episodes were more interlocked, whereas, this arc, not so much.

    Here's the linkage: https://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/comparisons/kanto/ep022.html

Man, the most screwed up Kanto Gym Leader gets a better backstory than most of the Gym Leaders (except maybe Giovanni with the Birth of Mewtwo CD). How weird is that?

Thank you! So, Dogasu thinks she laughs too much. Well, I didn't really notice, I just thought she was funny/adds creepiness to the scene.

I keep hearing about this Birth of Mewtwo CD, does it have BGM on other than the 1st movie?

I didn't mind the laughter, either, actually. Admittedly, I was busy/having fun with adult Sabrina. I also noticed how she actually has a mother and a father. Brock just had his father (until 2003), whereas, Giovanni just had his mother in the CD. What is with this franchise and parental abandonment?

As for the Birth of Mewtwo CD, it's just the Japanese tracks of the first movie as a bonus. Plus, the radio drama, itself, of course. The closest to it being animated was the "Birth of Mewtwo" extra on the Mewtwo Returns DVD. Though, the VHS did play the first 2 minutes, then cut to the movie. So, yeah.

Yeah, this episode was fun, and somewhat creepy. Ash getting his butt kicked is a good sight to see. However, I have to disagree with the "best arc" part. When the conclusion comes up, my rant on that episode will explain why, but you probably know already.

Also, I can't remember if it was this one or the next, but the whole "needing a Ghost to beat Psychic types" thing was amusing in retrospect, if only because A: Ghost was completely ineffective against Psychic in the games at the time (not that it had many move options anyways, but still) and B: The only Ghosts were also part Poison, setting themselves up to get blasted by a supereffective Psychic attack. That was almost like the infamous AIM FOR THE HORN!

This was an epic episode. Ash getting his rear handed to him and the punishment for losing is becoming a bowling pin! I must ask, why is Sabrina always portrayed as an evil person? I admit she's cocky in the games, but in every other series (except Electric Tale) she's some horrible witch who needs to be taught a lesson then turns to good! Overall 10/10!

YES! ^^ This is my favourite episode mainly because it introduced my most favourite gymleader (excluding Brocko of course) Sabrina. You would think that Ash would be less foolhardy than to go against the telekinetic powers. XD Abra is so awesome with its teleportation powers and so is the battle no less! Woah, Sabrina evolved her Abra into Kadabra WITH the power of her mind? YAY!

The doll-house scene was very creepy though like something out of a Hitchhock movie. "They're DOLLS!" I loved the doll-girl though, it added a nice touch of creepiness: "I want you to play with me after the battle and if you lose, I want you to play with me forever and eeeeevvvvaarrr..." XD I am just wondering why Ash pretended to bend the spoon (with his hands) but I LOVED that scene!. ^^

    I also loved Sabrina's emotionless voice :D
