    Has anyone seen the first episode of pokemon featuring Ash receiving a Pikachu? Well did you see a elite four person on Tv throw out a GREEN POKEBALL that contained an Onix? Can anyone explain what Nintendo was up too?
     
    Remember the Anime was based off the games. So it was pretty much a representation of the original games Red and Green and I guess there SHOULD have been a planned for that but might have gotten pruned.

    Or it's an unholy plothole.
     
    Or Pokeballs were not originally supposed to be mainly red.
     
    The green Pokeball has been seen many times. Gold's original art has it and so does Brendan. We have no idea what it does but it does exist in a way.
     
    I think the green ball was supposed to be a Master ball. Eg in GSC it's green.
     
    lol i have only ever seen it in the first episode and i always just thought the guy just personalized hi poke balls i would lol i paint 3 of them black and leave 3 red

    Don't you just love Occam's Razor? Heh. I think it was a design they threw in, because. It isn't like the art would be as streamlined, as it would be, today.
