Weeks before the june 5th direct, this anonymous thread was posted on 4chan. It predicted dynamaxing, the legendaries, the wild area, and, most convincingly, the names of the main characters. The thread also included some real wacky stuff, like having three rivals, needing a sponsor to gym battle, the evil team being fans of your rival, "regional evolutions", sobble's evolution having a spy theme, and scorbunny evolving into "pure fighter", and seeing other players online in the wild area! Be aware that the leak isn't set in stone. Gamefreak is fully capable of changing their plans now that they were leaked. What do you think of this leak? How would you react if this was confirmed?

I don't know about a lot of that but I saw the words 'electric corgi' so I'm sold! (●♡∀♡)

Agree that the leak isn't set in stone and not everything in it is confirmed so far, but it does seem like most of it is. :o

I'm especially curious to see what the Gigantamaxing stuff would be about. Also....

Some pokemon, like Farfechtd, will get regional evolutions, like Sirfechtd. Meowth looks like a ball of spiky grey fur

Seems like regional variants would make a return, but that remains to be seen.

The scorbunny thing struck me as a typo. I feel it's meant to say pure fire.

I'll be fine with this so long as the listed Pokémon aren't the only ones for regional evolutions and Gigamaxing--the only ones listed are from gen 1, and I would sincerely hope that, being the 20th anniversary year of Gold and Silver, if they're going to do new "forms" that at the very least gen 2 'mons would get something and not just gen 1 again for the millionth time.

    Yeah that seems more likely.

There has definitely been enough of Kanto pokémon since the 2016 GO craze and Alola variants now yeah, dear god pls let us move on.

I'm hyped for new evolutions though! We haven't seen that properly since Sinnoh, bar Sylveon afaik.

There is one possibility - the above claim is based on someone seeing just the trailer early, and they made up other things to go along with it. We have had "leaks" that were only partially correct, after all.

There's an awful lot that matches up though, certainly.

Agreed too - please stop the kanto pandering...

Some more love for Gen 2 is honestly one of the things that'd hype me the most. Gen 2 has some of my favourite Pokémon designs and has so many additions to Gen 1 mons yet I'd even say they never got much of a spotlight, as even its own games relegated a lot of those Pokémon to marginal roles. It's kinda the expansion for Gen 1 that GF too often forgets about, while for me personally Gen 1 feels somewhat uncomplete without Gen 2.

(though, obviously, I hope for all gens to be represented almost equally instead of once again Gen 1 everywhere)

I like this leak. If Scorbunny's final evo has a better design than Sobble's, I'll stick with it. Otherwise, that spy theme is really enticing. <3 Sobble is starting to win me over with its cute eyelids too, and the recent Direct it showed how cute it is in-game ughh

I do have high hopes for most of what this leak says! Some of it could be fake and lumped together with real ones just for the heck of it, so I'll still take them with a grain of salt. But I really dig the Gigantamaxing idea. :)

That leak has leaned me toward Sobble, but I still need to see the evolutions and shiny forms. I'm sort of torn between Sobble and Scorbunny, but only because I'm optimistic that shiny Scorbunny will be a chocolate brown bunny with Cadbury purple accents. If that pans out, I'll have to choose Scorbunny. If not, it's Sobble all the way.

I'm liking it so far and I'm hoping it ends up being true, but I'm being sceptical about it. I've seen numerous leaks where they have got a few things wrong so I wouldn't be surprised if a few things here don't end up happening.
That said, I love the idea of Gigantamaxing. Dynamaxing kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but the idea behind Gigantamaxing has me hyped for the idea. This is the only thing I want to happen. That, and Sirfetch'd, or just giving older Pokemon evolutions.
I feel like we've had enough of a break since a fire/fighting starter that I'm alright if Scorbunny ends up becoming one. Plus I'm liking the design so far and I don't feel it can be any worse than Emboar lol.
Definitely something I'll be keeping an eye on over the next few months. I'm sure they'll reveal something new at E3 so keeping my eyes peeled.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Several other typos/mistakes throughout the leak so I figured it was that ahaa.

If this is true....I can imagine Sobble's line looking really cool when evolved. Thinking of it wearing a mask just seems like it'd be awesome.

I wouldn't be surprised if some more of it ends up being true, but I doubt all of it will.

The part I'm most skeptical of is Gigantamaxing. Introducing two transformational super power battle gimmicks seems too unusual to me. The name kinda comes off to me as a beta name for Dynamaxing, and maybe it's just being confused with potential new regional variants (Meowth getting both a new regional+Gigantamaxing?).

Guess we'll see what E3/Corocoro/future trailers reveal....

    Mega Evolution + Primal Reversion
    Z-Moves + Exclusive Z-Moves
Basically the same thing here, regular Dynamaxing and exclusive Dynamaxing

This was disproven at e3. Nessa, electric corgi, and other players in the wild area were all confirmed.

Yup, as soon as Nessa was announced I knew that was the case.

My personal bet is translator or bug checker, potentially sacked (he said he was upset in his post... and what motivation would he have for risking his job/breaking an NDA? By no longer having a job...)

Not liking the sound of Gigantamaxing since the three Pokemon that were mentioned to be able to do it are Gen 1 mons, which implies that we'll get more Gen 1 nostalgia pandering with this feature. Seriously, can GF just stop.
I think this is further confirmed by the lack of transferring from old Pokémon combined with the removal of Mega Evolution. It's practically guaranteed that all gen 1 Pokémon will be in Galar due to Home compatibility with LGPE; if we get another Alola situation, where the majority of the regional dex (even more in number than the new Pokémon themselves) is gen 1, it stands to reason they will get the majority (or more likely, the entirety) of the new gimmick transformations. And without Megas, Pokémon like the Galar region Champion's own ace, Charizard, will need something to replace them. What better than the new transformation gimmick of the generation? Who knows, Charizard may even get two again.

Yeah, they even hinted the fact Nessa would be a water type gym leader here.

I reckon he was sacked, too. Nothing else really makes sense as to why he leaked, especially when he says he wasn't planning on leaking. I saw some people elsewhere speculate he got angry over their decision not to include all the Pokemon, which is laughable, it really seems a lot more personal than that. The fact he said "I didn't get too far, I liked what I saw" seems to imply he was some third party over looker. We'll probably never find out what happened, but I'm interested to see if they come back for more leaks.
