The Pokémon Community forum posting rules are in effect and should be followed. A warning will be given to those who attempt to evade/break any of the guidelines. Community Rules and Regulations
PFF is for Pokémon-related work only.
If the fan fiction is not Pokémon related, it obviously doesn't belong here, it belongs to the Other Writing forum. Please be sure your thread actually belongs in this forum before posting it. Pokémon poetry? Submit it here! [/assistance]



General Guidelines

The rules for the Pokemon Fan fiction forum are as follows:
  • There is no chapter limit.
  • Linking to other sites is not allowed in PFF. URLs will be edited.
  • Rushed work, such that does not meet the quality standards for the section, will be pushed to The Revision Bin, and will wait for approval. Please revise your work thoroughly before submitting it in this section. You might find this as a strict measure, but these kind of instances will not be tolerated and are strongly discouraged. If you have any doubts regarding the approval of your story you can always throw a PM to the section's moderator/evaluator, to revise beforehand.
  • Only create topics to start a story, not to promote it previously. If your topic lacks an actual write in it, it will be considered pointless and therefore will be closed.
  • Constructive criticism is crucial! Don't give flaming and/or improperly discouraging advice; it'll get your post deleted.

Specific Guidelines

  • Hentai is prohibited
Hentai content of any kind is not allowed.
  • Ratings
Try to provide a rating for your fan-fictions. Fics containing mature content such as violence or sexuality MUST be rated. [/agelimit] tags are often useful. "PG" stands for parental guidance. You can establish an age extent of your criterion using this.
Example:
PG-13. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13 years of age.

  • Regarding double posting & topic revival
Double posting/Thread revival is allowed for fan-fictions, however, only the thread creator can do this, and only when posting a new chapter. If a "dead" topic is revived by a different member, the topic will be closed and will only be unlocked after the author requests a moderator to do so by PM.
  • Proper reviewing of fan fictions
While it is good to express your liking towards a certain fan-fiction, you are required to do it adding an adequate review/point of view. You always can help with a proper revision, so instead of merely saying 'I liked it', (which could be expressed via PM or even IM rather than doing it here) you can contribute adding more value to the topic.


FFotM (Fan Fiction of the Month)

"If your fan fiction excels and stands out, it shall become the fan fiction of the month. The requirements are strict and only outstanding fan fictions will be chosen monthly."

The deserving story will be chosen throughout a span of 5 days each month (probably from 1st to 5th) and moved into the Fan fiction Archive.

Your fan fiction must qualify with attributes that exceed the standards of the section, with appealing properties such as grammar, diction, structure and length. If during a determined selection stories that excel and consider these charachteristics are not to be found, the award will be omitted and the process will cremain ordinary until the following month, if the same situation isn't found again.

Discuss ideas and plots on the Writer's lounge! Please refrain from posting thoughts on the general forum, and also avoid posting in the Fan-fiction Archive unless your story is located there. Post simple ideas/inquiries/story ads on the Fan Fiction Lounge thread.
