Do harmlessly internet stalk people? I do. I'm not ashamed nor embarrassed to admit that. Creepy? Who cares, no harm done. How do you react to internet stalking? What are your thoughts? I find it rather interesting to know someone stalks me. At least I know someone actually cares what it is I'm doing, regardless of why.

I stalk quite a few members on PC as well! If you see me on your profile recent visitors list often, I likely stalk you. :)

  • I wouldn't call it stalking but I do go to a couple of my friends' profiles and see what they're doing from time to time. And once I've read their VMs, so yeah.

I think internet stalking is ok. If the person being stalked feels uncomfortable or gets hurt then the stalking isn't harmless. Porpusely making someone uncomfortable isn't right and stalking someone to hurt them isn't right either.

I literally laughed at that. Creeper. Stalking people on the internet is no big deal, as long as the person getting stalked is not being harassed or to the point were they feel uncomfortable about it.

How ironic seeing as I was talking about this a couple days ago.

Yeah I stalk a large majority of PC members here for various reasons. Although compared to when I first joined I stalk now mainly because I'm bored. I get a sense of accomplishment when I go out stalking someone and find what I've been looking for. The farthest I usually go is to their Facebook and then I end there. There's nothing else I'm that curious in knowing past that point. The only other big thing I do is read through members' vm conversations, but I figure everyone does that to some extent.

I take stalking pretty well and I'd be generally happy to know if someone stalked me. I would think that I must be interesting to that person, that or they at least take some kind of notice of me. It's just not a big deal to me at all. Just to add it in I've never harassed anyone I've stalked in case anyone starts assuming. :)

I don't see how it's creepy as I do it myself and don't see why people have to tell you directly in the face; stalker! It kind of makes me feel bad and I look bad with my particular self image online if you get my point. I know I have my stalkers around here and don't really mind, that totally means you actually care about me and like me for the matter. In all I adore you internet stalkers. *cough Shivi*

Eh, occasionally. And not that I use it (often), but what is twitter if not big pot of people stalking each other?
I'd quite like it if I found out someone was stalking me on PC. It'd make me feel popular :3

  • It doesn't really bother me if somebody wants to stalk me. As long as they don't actually hunt me down in real life and kill me or something it's all cool. I don't know whether you'd call what I do stalking, but yeah I check the About Me sections of other members on their profiles often just out of interest.

I stalk my own profile more than I look at the profiles of others.

Depends on the term "internet stalking".
If by that you mean going on other people's profiles, I do that. A LOT. BE WARNED. xD
(a few people on sppf got really annoyed at me for doing that lol)

    Yeah, Patchisou stalks our conversation.

I stalk people that interest me. I'm not ashamed, if anyone asked then I would tell them. I just enjoy finding out more information about interesting people. If somebody staked me, I would take it as a compliment because it means I must be interesting to them in some way.

I don't stalk in the traditional sense as in having some sort of an obsession with knowing what happens in their everyday life. I just try and gather as much info as I can, and if I can't do that easily, then I'll just leave it at that.

  • I see no harm in randomly checking people's profiles, isn't it there for that reason? Haha. But yeah, as long as the stalker doesn't do something to make the stalkee uncomfortable, then it's no big deal. I'm sure everyone's done it at some point, and I personally have no problem with being stalked, either. At least it means that I must seem interesting. XD

  • I stalk people all the time. How do you think I know so much about people? I usually read VM convos if I'm bored or they look interesting.

I would find it interesting to know someone stalks me. I would probably take that as they want to get to know me or thing I am interesting.

  • I usually just poke fun at it when I notice it, but it has stepped over into the realm of creepy before in the past so I try to keep a lot more things private lately. :/ So I guess I ultimately don't mind but I've seen it turn sour so I do try to avoid it happening anywhere farther than PC (itt i state the obvious).

As for whether or not I do it myself, nah, I don't have the time or interest really. u_u I'll occasionally read some VM conversations if I notice a particularly interesting-looking one when I'm on someone's profile but I rarely go out of my way.

I'm guilty of doing this; I don't see what's wrong with coming to a few people's profiles on PC.
I don't think that's what's meant. Profiles are there to be looked at, obviously. It reaches the extent of stalking when a particular interest is shown in particular individuals; things like reading all or most of someone's (recent) posts, their VMs, possibly following their activity online, etc; coming back to the same person(s) consistently. At least that seems to be it.

  • I think it has become a normal thing to do now.
I check up on people, but I don't think that counts as stalking, but what is stalking now-a-days.

The meaning has changed since social networking was brought onto the scene.

  • Yes I do. Particularly when I'm waiting for someone to come online so we can talk, I will stalk their profile relentlessly to see whether they've been on and just ignoring me, or whether they haven't been online at all.

I don't "stalk" people I don't know nearly as much, and if I'm going to "stalk" people I have an antagonistic relationship with, I'm sure to log off first so my name doesn't appear in their "Recent Visitors" list.

  • I do this on Facebook a lot. I see mutual friends and whatnot, and just go from there. Or, if I'm friends with someone, I might go to their page and go read through everything on their page, if I'm bored/nosy. n_n; It's just something to do when bored~

    I occasionally stalk on PC, but not that as much as I do on facebook. n_n;
